  •

    Dear Friends,

I have been accepted to go to the Ukraine this summer with Euro Team Outreach for a 3 month short term mission. I’ll be participating in the Carpathian Mountain Outreach – you can check it out online at: www.euroteamoutreach.org/cmo/ .

“The Carpathian Mountains are home to thousands of unreached Ukrainians, living quite isolated from the modern world. In the summer of 2008, a team of men will go to the mountains of Ukraine and preach Jesus to those who have never heard.” I feel that God has called me to participate in this for this upcoming summer (leaving on June 3rd and returning to the U.S. on Aug. 15th).

The total cost for the trip is about $5,000 (including airfare, supplies – we’ll be backpacking into the mountains each week on foot, camping out as we go! – along with our living expenses while we’re back in the city of L’viv). I will be raising this support from my local church and others who are willing to support me either financially or in prayer (or both!) during this time.

If there is any way that YOU could support me in this endeavor than please get in touch with me. I am asking not just for financial support, but also to know that I have an army of prayer warriors behind me as I leave on this mission for Christ. Also, while I am in Ukraine, I will be doing an update during the times I have access to the internet, if you would be interested in that than please do not hesitate to contact me!

If you have further questions, or would like to know more about this – please feel free to email me at josh (at) jdasher (dot) com..

    In Christ,
    Joshua Dasher

    5. Is your dream house surrounded by a fence? No.

    10. How will you cross the water? Skip from rock to rock, laughing as the spray of the water lands on my face.

After you copy and paste into a new entry, and answer ALL the questions above you can look down here.

    ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

    The ANSWERS

    1. The person who you are walking in the woods with is the most important to you
Okay. :) That sounds like fun.

    2. The size of the animal is representative of your perception of the size of your problems in your life.
Hmm... not big, but rather important.

    3. The severity of the interaction you have with the animal is representative of how you deal with your problems.

Smile as they go flying by... that's appropriate.

    4. The size of your dream home is representative of the size of your ambition to solve your problems.

Large and sprawling with a great deal of light... that's... not very enlightening.

    5. A lack of a fence is indicative of an open personality. People are welcome at all times. The presence of a fence indicates a closed personality. You'd prefer people not drop by unannounced.

Yeah, that works! Come in, come in!

    6. If your answer did NOT include food, flowers, or people, then you are generally unhappy.

    Mine included food and people!

    7. The durability of the material with the cup is made of is representative of the perceived durability of your relationship.

    Coffee mug strong. ugh.

    8. What you did with the cup is representative of your attitude.

    Fascinating... I'm... thirsty?

    9. The size of the body of water is representative of the size of your sexual desire.

    Ha...ha...ha... okay.

    10. The way you cross the water is representative to how easy or hard you expect your life to be.

    I like life!

  • Ukraine

So some of you may have heard that I am planning to go to Europe this summer, some of you might not have, I'm really excited. I'm leaving on June the 3rd for L'viv, Ukraine where I will remain for three months. I am spending my time there in missions both within the city of L'viv there and also through-out the Carpathian Mountain Range. It will be quite the summer!

If I could ask those of you who do to keep me in your prayers it would be wonderful. A lot of things have to happen before I go, and it's also an expensive trip (about $5-6,000) and I need to come up with that money pretty much before I go. So, a lot is going on in my life! I realize I do not update my xanga all that recently, so here you guys all go!

  • So I'll admit that I've recently become obsessed with poetry. I only just noticed that my last several posts are poetry... and here I am, about to do another one!

    Weep not, child,
    Weep not, my darling,
    With these kisses let me remove your tears;
The ravening clouds shall not long be victorious,
They shall not long possess the sky—shall devour the stars only in apparition:
Jupiter shall emerge—be patient—watch again another night—the Pleiades
    shall
    emerge,
They are immortal—all those stars, both silvery and golden, shall shine out again,
    The great stars and the little ones shall shine out again—they endure;
The vast immortal suns, and the long-enduring pensive moons, shall again shine.
    ~Walt Whitman
